In Town Waterfalls:
Bracebridge Falls - These are the big falls located right at the Silver Bridge in Downtown Bracebridge and they empty the north branch of the Muskoka River's water down into Bracebridge bay.
Wilson's Falls - Located just to the north of the downtown down River Road. There is a great walking trail around these falls and they are great to look at year round.
High Falls - All in all there are 5 waterfalls located at the High Falls site (once called the Big Falls in 1870). There are Pott's Falls, Muskoka Canyon Falls, Little High Falls, Big High Falls and a 5th man-made falls to accommodate the high falls waterpark. Much of this site is wheelchair accessible and since it is adjacent to an MTO maintained park, and is situated on the Trans-Canada Trail System, it is an ideal spot to stop and enjoy the view. |
South Branch Falls System:
These waterfalls include:
- Cook's Falls
- Slater's Chute
- Snake Chute
- May Chute
- Crozier's Rapids
You can access all these fanstastic falls in their pristine wilderness setting by jumping in a canoe in Baysville (Highway #117) and paddling downriver. There are portages around each of the falls, but caution should still be used. By some of these falls there are crown campsites available to be used.
