'In-Town' Fall Colours Tours
Of course there are plenty of opportunities within a few minutes of Bracebridge where you can view some of the best colours that the season has to offer. Below are two shorter routes for the less intrepid fall colour enthusiasts.
Lone Pine Drive
If you are travelling north on Manitoba Street, just continue straight at the lights at KFC. About five minutes farther you will see Lone Pine Drive on your right. This long and winding road is a must see for visitors looking for the full experience in Fall colour. The mixed forests on either side of this road make for a great contrast between the brilliant reds of the maples, and the dark inky green of the pines and spruces. If you are adventurous, this road continues north paralleling Highway 11. You can always take one of the Stephenson side roads and come out on the Highway heading south back toward town.

Red Route
This large loop starts in Bracebridge, and goes out Highway #118 East until you hit Carnarvon, then north on #35 until you come to Dorset. From there, just take Highway #117 through Baysville and back out to Highway #11 where it's just a five minute drive back into Bracebridge. There are many small towns along this route including Uffington, Vankoughnet, Carnarvon, Dorset and Baysville which have some spectacular colour.
Total Distance: 130km Total Time: 2 hours 15 minutes

Blue Route
This loop starts off in Bracebridge and takes you through some of the scenic routes between Bracebridge and our neighbour to the south (Gravenhurst). Once you reach Gravenhurst there is a great driving route out Highway #169 which takes you through such small towns as Walkers Point, Torrance and Bala and you end up coming through Glen Orchard to High #118 which takes you through Port Carling and back to Bracebridge.
Total Distance: 100km Total Time: 1 hour 30 minutes

Green Route
This loop starts off in Bracebridge and takes you north toward Huntsville. The first few kilometers of this route is rather boring as you have to travel on Highway #11 until you get to #141, but once you turn west toward Utterson you will soon see why this route is well worth while. The loop takes you through Utterson and almost to the small town of Windermere before turning south and coming back to Highway 118 and east toward Bracebridge.
Total Distance: 100km Total Time: 1 hour 30 minutes | | Strawberry Bay
From town, head down Beaumont Drive until you come to Stephen's Bay Road, follow this road, keeping to the left, and you will come out on Muskoka Beach Road, heading back toward Bracebridge. Or, if you would like, turn right on Muskoka Beach Road and head into Gravenhurst via the scenic route, then it's just a ten minute drive back up Highway #11 to get back to Bracebridge.
The full majesty of the Autumn season can be seen on every tree as the leaves turn into deep reds, fire-coloured oranges and brilliant yellows. This is Fall in Muskoka, and it's breathtaking. Bracebridge is located right in the middle of all that this region has to offer, and there are a number of scenic drives to make your experience more enjoyable.
The mixture of deciduous and coniferous trees surrounding the town offers the viewer a unique and beautiful contrast between the deep greens of the pines and their brightly ornamented neighbours.
There are plenty of activities to do while you are visiting, and the hustle and bustle of summer has passed so they can be enjoyed at your leisure.
